Annetta has taught basketry for over 20 years, traveling across America to teach her basketry designs at fiber and basket conventions and for guilds, schools and private groups. Workshops range from one day classes to five day workshops, from project oriented classes to technique and process focused workshops. Classes sizes are limited in size to give each student individual attention.

Multiday Workshops
Diagonal Twill Workshop
This tutorial explores diagonal twill weaving. Working with 6mm and 4 mm strips of hand-painted paper, students will learn the basics of base construction, turning corners, weaving the sides and counting rows as well as three different rimming options. Students will complete 3-4 different basket,

Chase Twill Workshop
Twill baskets with a little bit of a twist! The focus of this workshop is chase twills, twill weaving with two weavers. Students will make two baskets. First, Voltage, a fun chase twill that uses color placement and chase twill weaving to create an eye catching design. Then students will weave the Leather and Lace Tote with its unique base and more complex chase twill. Workshop discussions will include twill design and how to do the math to create a chase twill basket. Shaping techniques are also emphasized.

Advanced Diagonal Twill Workshop
Advanced students will enjoy the opportunity to take the next step in diagonal twills – vessels with footed bases, rectangular bases, shoulders, five sides and complex patterns. This workshop allows students to choose 2, 3 or 4 projects to weave from start to finish.

Skill Level: Advanced – must have diagonal twill experience.
Paper Weaving Workshop
This workshop includes painting paper, then cutting and weaving up 3-4 small plaited baskets.

Ply Split Workshop
Students will have an opportunity to make cording and learn how to make several different style of ply-split coasters. In addition, they will also receive a gripfid and enough ready made cording to make two coasters. These coasters are a wonderful introduction to an ancient weaving technique from India – ply splitting. A wonderful opportunity to learn a new technique and make something you will use every day.
