Studio Life
A lifelong passion for color and admiration for traditional pottery shapes and mathematical patterns has led me to the baskets I currently weave. Although ever evolving, the paper vessels I create today make use of layered color and texture that enhances the interplay of light and shadow. In order to give depth and dimension to my work, materials, color and techniques are carefully chosen to create both pattern and form.
I’ve always found great satisfaction in working with an object in my hands. In the work I am now creating, age-old forms are combined in each woven vessel with layers of contemporary color with the result of each basket having a sense of elegance and beauty.
